Lemon, lime and bergamot open it brightly, and mate, the South American tea, adds a green, slightly bitter, smoky note. The spice is warm and old-fashioned: cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom with a sharp pepper, and carnation adds a clove-like floral touch that sits naturally with them. The base is substantial: cedar and guaiac wood bring dry, smoky woods, vetiver a grassy depth, sandalwood a smooth creaminess, and benzoin and amber a resinous, slightly sweet warmth.
