Sumo Wrestler from the Japanese brand J-Scent (2017) is a floral fragrance with spicy, woody and musky sides noticed by most people, and smaller groups finding freshness and resin.
The idea behind it is the scent of the hair oil used by sumo wrestlers, and the notes follow that. Orange and eucalyptus give a fresh, slightly camphorous opening, with anise adding a sweet, liquorice-like herb. The heart is floral and powdery: jasmine, orange blossom and violet bring a soft bloom, and heliotrope an almond-like, cosmetic powder. Cinnamon adds warmth. The base is smooth and resinous, with sandalwood for creaminess, labdanum for a honeyed resin, patchouli for earthiness and musk for a clean, skin-like finish.
It is shared and can be worn by anyone. It suits everyday wear and the cooler seasons, and should appeal to people who enjoy unusual, story-driven scents with a soft, powdery character.
