Lavender and rosemary set the herbal tone, clean and slightly camphorous, with galbanum adding a sharp, bitter green snap. Geranium brings a rosy, minty floral touch that keeps the herbs from feeling austere. The base turns darker and warmer: tobacco adds a dry, honeyed leafiness, leather a smooth animalic depth, patchouli earthiness, vetiver a smoky rootiness, and benzoin a soft, vanilla-tinged resin that pulls everything together.
The move from bright herbs to tobacco and leather suggests a scent that works best in cooler months and in the evening, for someone who likes a classic barbershop opening with a more serious finish.
