Leather and black pepper open it together, the leather smooth and slightly smoky, the pepper dry and sharp, so the first impression is warm rather than fresh. The heart turns sweeter: benzoin brings a balsamic, vanilla-like resin, tonka bean a creamy, almond-tinged warmth, and guaiac wood a smoky, slightly tarry, sweet wood that bridges the leather and the sweetness. The base is vanilla, woods and ambergris, which give a soft, sweet, slightly salty drydown.
