Peach opens it, but not as a juicy fruit: it is a soft, velvety, skin-like peach, warmed by spices that give the top a dry, faintly powdery heat. The heart is rose and jasmine, classical and restrained, more a warm glow than a bouquet. The base is where the character lies: patchouli brings an earthy, slightly bitter depth and vetiver a dry, rooty, smoky cleanness, and together they give the composition an austere, mossy, chypre-style finish.
Peach over patchouli and vetiver is an unusual balance, neither sweet nor fresh but somewhere between, and it rewards cooler weather and a little patience. It suits autumn, daytime or evening, and anyone who likes complex, slightly melancholy florals.
