Nesos by the Italian house Eolie Parfums, released in 2020, is a sharp, herbal scent with an unexpected leathery edge. Fresh and leather impressions are shared by everyone who describes it.
The composition is built from three notes. Eucalyptus gives a cool, camphorous, almost medicinal freshness that clears the air from the first spray. Thyme adds a dry, savoury, Mediterranean herbal note that smells of sun-baked hillside rather than kitchen. Star anise brings a sweet, liquorice-like warmth that rounds off the sharp edges of the other two and, alongside them, creates the smooth, slightly animalic impression that wearers describe as leather.
Nesos is worn by anyone. Its bracing, herbal character suits spring and summer and daytime wear, and it reads as a scent for someone who likes aromatic fragrances with a clear idea and no sweetness. With so few notes it stays recognisably itself from first spray to drydown rather than developing in stages, which suits a wearer who wants a distinctive signature.
