L'Eau de Liesse from the French house Courrèges, composed by Nicolas Beaulieu in 2022, is a clean, musky floral. Floral is what everyone notices, most also find it musky, and a minority pick up freshness, amber and citrus.
Aldehydes and citruses open it with a sparkling, slightly soapy brightness, and neroli adds a fresh, bitter-orange floral tone. The heart is jasmine and jasmine sambac, warm and sweet but kept airy, with iris adding a cool, powdery layer and heliotrope an almond softness. A macadamia note gives the base a creamy, nutty smoothness, while white musk and musk make it clean and skin-like and ambroxan adds a dry, mineral warmth that helps it last.
It is marketed as feminine and suits daytime wear in spring and summer, for someone who likes clean white flowers with a soft musky finish rather than a sweet or heavy one.
