Hierba Nera is a dark, resinous woody scent with an ambery depth, released by the Italian house Coreterno in 2019 and composed by Luca Maffei. It is worn by anyone.
Cannabis, nutmeg and bergamot open it with a green, herbal, slightly spiced sharpness. The heart is resinous and warm: labdanum and amber give a rich, balsamic sweetness, elemi a lemony, peppery resin, incense a thin smoke, and cedar and Iso E Super a smooth, dry woodiness. The base deepens further with Texas and Atlas cedar, agarwood for a dry, resinous oud note, and oakmoss for an earthy, forest-floor bitterness.
It is an autumn and winter scent, suited to evenings and cold days. Anyone who likes dark, resinous woods with a herbal opening should find it a strong fit.
