La Panthere is a fragrance from the French house Cartier, composed by Mathilde Laurent and released in 2014. Sweetness and flowers lead equally, with lighter spicy, green, musky and citrus touches.
Rhubarb, strawberry and bergamot open with a tart, juicy and bright fruitiness, while dried fruits add a jammy depth and anise a light, liquorice-like spice. The heart brings gardenia, rose, ylang-ylang and orange blossom, a creamy, rich floral bouquet, with pear adding freshness. In the base, oakmoss and patchouli create a green, earthy chypre finish, with leather and musk adding a soft, animalic warmth.
About half of wearers find it long lasting, and most report moderate sillage. It is voted mostly for autumn and worn day and night. It suits dinners and smart occasions, and someone who likes a modern, fruity gardenia chypre with a mossy, leathery base rather than a fresh or green floral.
