Sacred Wood, created by Calice Becker for By Kilian in 2014, is a creamy, milky sandalwood with a resinous, ambery warmth. Woods and amber lead equally, spice and resin are strong, and a minority mention sweetness and musk.
Ambrette, carrot seeds and pink pepper open with a soft, musky, earthy and lightly peppery start. The heart is the centre of the scent: sandalwood and amyris give a smooth, creamy woodiness, milk a soft, comforting roundness, caraway a dry spice and elemi and copahu balm a fresh, resinous lift. The base brings Mysore sandalwood, Atlas cedar, myrrh, tolu balsam and incense, a warm, balsamic and gently smoky finish.
Many wearers find it long lasting, and the trail is mostly moderate. It is voted for autumn and winter and worn by day slightly more than at night. Worn by anyone, it suits quiet days, office wear and cosy evenings, for people who love a soft, meditative sandalwood.
