Agaressence is a rich, sweet floral with oud, animalic warmth and resins, released by the French house Brecourt in 2010, composed by Emilie Bouge and intended for women.

Plum and blackcurrant open it with a dark, ripe fruitiness, sharpened by currant leaf and bud, which add a green, slightly tart edge. Saffron brings a warm, leathery spice. The heart is lush: rose, tuberose and ylang-ylang give a full, creamy floral richness, with rhododendron adding a soft green touch. The base is deep and unusual: agarwood provides a dry, resinous oud, civet an animalic warmth, spikenard an earthy, slightly musty root, and gurjun balsam, amyris and cypriol a resinous, smoky woodiness.

It suits autumn and winter and evening wear. Anyone who likes opulent florals with oud and animalic depth should find it a strong fit.
