Art1920 is a lavish fruity gourmand from the Italian house Bois 1920, composed by Arturetto Landi and released in 2025. Most people call it gourmand, just under half describe it as floral, around a third as woody, and a minority find it green, resinous or citrus.
The opening is a whole fruit bowl: mango, blackberry, passionfruit, peach, melon, blackcurrant, apple and raspberry, sharpened by grapefruit and bergamot and given a cooler edge by green tea and violet leaves, with a thread of saffron running through. The heart is a bouquet of rose, lily of the valley, jasmine sambac, iris and orange blossom, adding creaminess and a little powder. The base is deep and warm: frankincense, benzoin and labdanum for resin, vanilla and tonka for sweetness, sandalwood, cedar and agarwood for wood, and leather and musk for a soft, lasting skin feel.
It is worn by anyone. The richness suggests evenings and cooler seasons, and a wearer who enjoys generous, sweet, long-wearing compositions.
