Almas, Arabic for diamond, is a 2012 fragrance by Christian Provenzano for Boadicea the Victorious. Flowers lead, wood is noticed by most people, about half find spice, sweetness and greenery, and smaller groups musk.
Pineapple, black currant and neroli give a juicy, bright opening, while coriander, cardamom and saffron add warmth and spice. Artemisia and currant leaf bring a bitter, green edge. The heart is a rich bouquet of Turkish rose, jasmine, Indian jasmine and geranium, velvety, creamy and rosy-green. The base is dense and rich: agarwood gives a smoky oud, suede a soft leather, oakmoss and moss a damp earthiness, and sandalwood, vanilla, amber and musk a creamy, warm finish.
Almas is shared and can be worn by anyone. It suits autumn and winter evenings, formal occasions and celebrations, for people who love opulent rose-oud compositions with a fruity lift.
