Chai by Baruti, composed by Spyros Drosopoulos in 2015 and worn by anyone, is built around spiced milky tea. Spice is what everyone picks up, most also describe it as sweet, and a minority notice green, musky, floral and leathery sides.

The spices are those of a real chai: cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and pepper, warm, dry and a little hot. Black tea gives the backbone, dry and tannic, and milk softens the whole thing into something creamy and comforting. Cocoa adds a faintly bitter chocolate depth and vanilla a smooth sweetness. Rose is a small floral touch that sits well with the cardamom, and leather and musk underneath give the scent a warm, slightly smoky, skin-like finish that stops it from smelling purely like a drink.

It reads as a cosy, cold-weather scent for someone who loves spiced tea and wants to wear it, with enough leather and tea dryness to keep it from being a straightforward gourmand.
