Aurum, Latin for gold, is a 2023 Xerjoff fragrance in which sweetness and citrus share the lead, wood is noticed by most people, and smaller groups find flowers, musk and amber.
Lemon, orange, Brazilian orange, bergamot and Calabrian bergamot give a bright, sparkling, golden citrus. Strawberry adds a juicy, red-fruit sweetness. The heart is soft and floral, with Bulgarian rose for a velvety bloom and heliotrope for an almond-like powder. The base is rich: dark chocolate and chocolate give a bittersweet cocoa, vanilla and Madagascar vanilla a creamy warmth, agarwood a dry, smoky oud, incense and labdanum a soft, resinous smoke, and patchouli and oakmoss an earthy depth.
Aurum is shared and can be worn by anyone. The bright citrus keeps it lively for daytime, while the chocolate and oud make it a natural choice for autumn and winter evenings. It should appeal to people who like citrus-chocolate gourmands with a woody depth.
