Astaral is a 2023 woody fragrance from Xerjoff. Wood leads, and most people also note spice, greenery, flowers and amber, with a smaller resinous share.
Pink pepper and anise give a bright, slightly sweet and herbal opening. Rose and violet bring a soft, powdery floral heart. Shamama attar, a traditional Indian blend of herbs, spices and resins, adds a warm, earthy, slightly smoky depth. The base is rich and textured: agarwood supplies a dry, dark oud, cedar and amberwood a smooth woody frame, oakmoss and moss a damp, green earthiness, and patchouli, labdanum and amber a warm, honeyed resin.
Astaral is shared and can be worn by anyone. Its mossy woods and oud suit autumn and winter, evenings and formal occasions, and it should appeal to people who enjoy complex, slightly old-world compositions with rose, oud and moss.
