Aqua Regia from Xerjoff (2023) is a gourmand with a woody side noticed by most people, floral and citrus sides by about half, and smaller groups finding musk and leather.
Bergamot, Calabrian bergamot and black currant open with a bright, juicy, slightly tart citrus-fruit. The heart is soft and floral: orris root brings a cool, buttery powder, and violet a gentle, candy-like softness. Caramel then adds a golden, rich sweetness that defines the gourmand character. The base is warm and textured, with vanilla and Madagascar vanilla for creaminess, patchouli and Singapore patchouli for an earthy depth, leather for a smooth texture, cedar for a dry wood and musk for a clean finish.
Aqua Regia is shared and can be worn by anyone. It suits autumn and winter, evenings and dates, and should appeal to people who like caramel and patchouli gourmands lifted by powdery iris and a bright citrus start.
