Tubéreuse Nue by Tom Ford, released in 2021 and worn by anyone, is a tuberose made warm and dry rather than creamy and tropical. Everyone describes it as floral; a third also find it spicy, musky, resinous, amber-like and leathery.
Lily and jasmine open it, clean and white, with Sichuan pepper adding a tingling, slightly citrusy spice. Tuberose arrives in the heart, but it is wrapped in benzoin and styrax, two resins that bring a sweet, balsamic, faintly smoky warmth and pull the flower away from anything fresh or dewy. The base is where it becomes unusual: agarwood adds a dry, resinous, smoky depth, suede a soft, velvety leather, and tonka bean and musk a smooth, warm finish.
Most wearers report long lasting performance and a strong or moderate trail. It is voted mainly for spring and mostly for daytime. It suits someone who likes tuberose but wants it darker and more skin-like, with resin and leather instead of the usual creaminess.
