Torpe is a bright, fruity floral from the Italian house Tiziana Terenzi, released in 2023, composed by Paolo Terenzi and worn by anyone. Floral and citrus are the two words everyone uses for it, most also find it woody, and a quarter notice sweetness, freshness or herbs.
The opening is a full Mediterranean citrus: lemon, Sicilian mandarin and Calabrian bergamot together give a sharp, sunny, slightly bitter brightness, with a marine note adding a cool, salty freshness behind them. The heart is generous, with Bulgarian rose and peony bringing a warm and a fresher rosiness, peach a soft, ripe sweetness, violet and iris a cool, powdery softness, and lavender a clean, herbal thread that keeps the bouquet from becoming heavy. The base is dry and serious: oakmoss for a damp, bitter depth, Indian patchouli for earth, ebony and Australian sandalwood for dark and creamy woods, and ambergris and musk for a warm, salty, skin-like finish.
It is a scent for daytime in spring and summer, worn by anyone who likes citrus and flowers with a mossy, woody backbone.
