Deep Ocean Amber is a resinous, musky amber with a soft floral touch, released by Sospiro Perfumes of Italy in 2023 and composed by Christian Provenzano. It is worn by anyone.
Elemi opens it with a lemony, slightly peppery resin that feels cool and clean. The heart is resinous and warm: labdanum gives a rich, honeyed, leathery depth, benzoin a sweet balsam, and styrax a smoky, slightly leathery edge. Violet adds a soft, powdery floral note. Ambergris and ambrette form the base, salty, mineral and musky, giving a warm, skin-like finish that recalls the sea-worn amber of the name.
It suits autumn and winter and evening wear, though the ambergris keeps it lighter than most ambers. Anyone who likes salty, musky ambers with resins should find it rewarding.
