Bergamot opens it with a brief, bright citrus before the heat arrives: cinnamon brings a sweet, fiery warmth, saffron a dry, leathery, slightly metallic edge, and a general blend of spices fills in around them so the start feels like a warm spice market rather than a single note. Agarwood is the heart, dark, resinous and faintly medicinal, and it gives the spices a deep, woody frame.
