Perfect Tobacco from the French house S.T. Dupont, released in 2019, is a spicy tobacco fragrance. Spice is what everyone notices, and about half also describe it as sweet, woody, floral and aromatic.
Cinnamon and ginger set the tone from the start, warm and a little sharp. Rose sits in the middle, giving the scent a soft, slightly jammy floral tone that keeps the spices from feeling harsh. Tobacco is the centre of it, dry, leafy and faintly honeyed, with agarwood adding a dark, resinous woody depth. Vanilla rounds off the base, sweet and smooth, so the whole thing lands somewhere between a spice drawer and a tobacconist.
It is worn by anyone and has the warm, enveloping character of a cold-weather evening scent, for someone who likes tobacco and oud softened with rose and vanilla.
