Somow Al Rasasi Ma'ali is a sweet, nutty woody scent from Rasasi, released in 2021 and worn by anyone. Gourmand and woody are the two words everyone uses for it, and about half also find it musky, floral, ambery or citrusy, which describes a rich, layered Gulf-style blend with an unusual edge.
Mandarin orange opens it with a juicy, sunny citrus, and hazelnut arrives early with a roasted, buttery, slightly sweet nuttiness that is the signature of the scent. A soft blend of floral notes sits in the heart, creamy and unspecific, and salt runs alongside it with a mineral, faintly savoury touch that keeps the nut and flowers from becoming too sweet. The base is where the weight gathers: agarwood brings a dark, resinous wood, sandalwood a creamy smoothness, vanilla a warm sweetness, and amber and musk a soft, radiant, skin-like finish.
