Grapefruit and blood grapefruit open it, sharp, slightly bitter and sunny, with cranberry adding a tart, red-fruit edge and ginger a warm, zesty spice. Lavender and clary sage bring a clean, herbal, slightly bitter freshness to the heart, and cedar and guaiac wood beneath them give a dry, smoky structure. The base is where the resins gather: elemi for a bright, lemony, pine-like resin, labdanum and opoponax for a warm, balsamic, slightly sweet depth, and benzoin for a soft, vanilla-like smoothness, with musk rounding off the finish.
It is a scent for cooler weather and evenings, worn by anyone who likes citrus and herbs on a warm, ambery, resinous base.
