Fruity notes and cognac give the opening a dark, boozy, slightly sweet richness. Leather is the centre of the composition, smooth and warm, and it is surrounded by smoke: incense for a dry, church-like resin, birch for a tarry, campfire quality, and smoke itself for an open-fire depth. Guaiac wood adds a warm, slightly sweet, smoky woodiness, and vetiver a rooty, earthy edge. Amber underpins everything with a soft, resinous warmth that keeps the smoke from feeling harsh.
