Cloves and ginger open it together, the cloves dry, hot and faintly medicinal, the ginger zesty and sharp, so the start is bracing rather than sweet. The heart is cinnamon and vanilla, the cinnamon warm, sweet and fiery, the vanilla creamy and soft, and together they turn the scent towards something baked and comforting without becoming dessert. The base is amber and myrrh, the amber a warm, slightly powdery, resinous glow, the myrrh darker, bitter and balsamic, so the drydown has more depth and seriousness than the cinnamon-and-vanilla middle might suggest.
It is a cold-weather, evening scent for women who like spice-led fragrances and want them warm and resinous rather than fruity or floral.
