Aoud Legend

Aoud Legend by Montale, released in 2016 and worn by anyone, is a woody fragrance first and foremost. A quarter of wearers also describe it as green, floral, resinous, ambery or leathery.

The notes are listed as one group. Saffron and rose give the opening its character, saffron warm and faintly leathery, rose soft and rich. Agarwood brings the smoky, resinous oud note at the centre, and leather adds a smooth, dry depth. Patchouli and oakmoss give earth and a dry, forest-floor greenness, labdanum a sweet, resinous warmth. Vetiver, sandalwood and ambergris finish it with grassy earth, creamy wood and a salty, mineral glow.

Saffron, rose and oud over moss and leather is a cold-weather, evening profile and suits anyone comfortable with a dense, dark scent. There are no community reports yet on how long it lasts or how far it carries.
