A Man's Cologne is a classic woody citrus with sweet, resinous and musky depth, released by Gravel in 1957, composed by Michael Knudson and intended for men.

Orange and bergamot open it with a bright, sunny citrus. The heart turns warm and sweet: benzoin gives a balsamic, vanilla-like resin, tonka bean an almondy, hay-like sweetness, and patchouli an earthy, slightly dark depth. The base is dry and smoky, with vetiver bringing a grassy, earthy woodiness, incense a thin thread of resinous smoke, and musk a soft, lasting finish.

It suits autumn and spring and works for both day and evening. Anyone who likes old-fashioned citrus colognes with a warm, resinous base rather than a fleeting one should find it a comfortable wear.
