Mint and peppermint open it together, and the effect is bracing: a cold, sharp, clean freshness with a slight sweetness, more like the leaf than like toothpaste, and it sets a crisp, wide-awake tone. Lavender follows, herbal, soapy and slightly camphorous, and it is what gives the scent its aromatic, barbershop character and the faintly spicy edge some people notice.
