It opens with neroli and bergamot, aldehydes and peach: a sparkling, slightly soapy brightness with a hint of ripe fruit, very much in the style of its era. The heart is a full bouquet of ylang-ylang, jasmine, rose, orchid and geranium, lush and powdery with a faint green edge from the geranium. Sandalwood, cedar, vetiver, musk and tonka bean form the base, bringing a creamy, slightly smoky warmth that lasts after the flowers fade.
About half of wearers report moderate longevity and a quarter find it long lasting; sillage is moderate for most. It is voted for autumn first and spring second, more for day than night. It suits someone who likes a traditional, elegant floral rather than a modern fruity one.
