Oud Immortel, released by Byredo in 2010, is a dry, smoky woody fragrance. Woods dominate, with lighter spicy, green, aromatic and amber touches.

The opening is unusual: cardamom gives a cool, aromatic spice, limoncello a sweet, boozy lemon note and incense a light, smoky lift. The heart is the woody core, with oud bringing a dark, resinous depth, papyrus a dry, smoky and slightly papery note, patchouli an earthy richness and Brazilian rosewood a soft, slightly floral woodiness. The base is tobacco and oakmoss, which add a honeyed dryness and a green, earthy finish.

Wearers are split between moderate and long lasting performance, with a moderate sillage. It is voted for autumn and spring and is worn by day and night alike. It suits office days, cool weather and evenings, and it is worn by anyone who likes oud in a drier, smoky and more restrained style.
