Liberty Island from Bond No 9, released in 2016, is a sweet citrus floral. People describe it as gourmand, floral and citrusy in equal measure, with about half also finding it musky.
Bergamot and mandarin orange open it bright and sunny, with blackcurrant adding a tart, leafy fruitiness. The heart pairs jasmine with orange blossom, so it is a white-flower bouquet with a sunny, slightly honeyed warmth. What makes it a gourmand is a marshmallow note, soft, fluffy and sugary, which sits across the heart and base and gives the whole thing a playful sweetness. Musk underneath keeps the drydown clean and smooth.
It is worn by anyone and has a bright, upbeat character suited to daytime and warm weather, for someone who likes their citrus and white flowers with a dollop of sweetness rather than a dry finish.
