Rose de Mai opens it, a fresh, bright, slightly green rose, and it is paired with rosemary for a sharp, camphorous herbal note and pimento for a warm, clove-like spice. The heart stays floral: jasmine adds a creamy, slightly heady warmth, neroli a soapy, bitter-orange-blossom freshness, and orris root a cool, powdery, faintly earthy softness. The base is a solid block of woods, with vetiver for a smoky, rooty dryness, cedar for a clean, pencil-like line, patchouli for an earthy depth, and sandalwood for a creamy, rounding warmth.
