Marina Deep & Dark by Ard Al Zaafaran, released in 2024, is a dark, spicy leather amber worn by anyone. Everyone who describes it calls it spicy, woody, musky, amber-like and leather in equal measure, which points to a dense, evenly balanced composition.
Saffron opens it with its dry, leathery, slightly medicinal spice, setting the tone immediately. Leather follows, smooth and supple with a smoky edge. Cedar gives the heart a clean, dry woody line that keeps the leather from feeling too heavy. Amber adds a warm, resinous glow to the base, and musk softens the finish so the dry-down is smooth and close to the skin rather than harsh.
With five notes doing all the work, the scent is clear and direct. It suits autumn and winter and evening wear, and someone who likes the saffron-leather-amber style and wants a shared fragrance with presence and warmth rather than freshness or sweetness.
