Grapefruit opens with a sharp, slightly bitter brightness, and lavender adds a cool, clean aromatic note. Orris root brings the floral side, not a flower so much as a soft, powdery, faintly earthy smoothness that gives the scent polish. Leather is dry and supple rather than smoky, and the base of vetiver and patchouli is earthy and rooted, vetiver grassy and dry, patchouli darker and slightly sweet.
