Amber Oud Black Edition from Al Haramain Perfumes, released in 2023, is a warm, woody amber. Wood and amber are what everyone picks up; about half also describe it as spicy, resinous, aromatic and leathery.
Cardamom and lavender open it with a dry, aromatic spice that keeps the start from being heavy. Beneath that, woody notes and vetiver give it a smoky, earthy structure, and leather adds a dark, slightly animalic edge. The base is rich and resinous: benzoin and amber bring a sweet, balsamic warmth, ambergris a salty, skin-like depth, and tonka bean softens it with a touch of vanilla.
It is worn by anyone, and its character is clearly for cooler weather and evenings: a dense, cosy fragrance for someone who wants a warm amber with an aromatic, leathery edge rather than a sugary one.
