La Nuit de l'Homme is Yves Saint Laurent's 2009 evening fragrance for men, composed by Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Pierre Wargnye. Spicy and woody are the words people use most, with about half also calling it aromatic and citrusy. It is a smooth, slightly sweet spice rather than a hot one.

Cardamom is the only top note and it defines the scent: a cool, aromatic, faintly sweet spice that stays present for most of the wear. In the heart, bergamot gives a brief citrus lift, lavender adds a clean barbershop freshness and Virginia cedar brings dry, pencil-shaving woods. The base of vetiver and caraway keeps things dry and earthy, with caraway adding a warm, bready spice that echoes the cardamom.

Most wearers report moderate longevity and a fifth find it weak, and the sillage is moderate for the majority, so it stays fairly close to the skin. Autumn and winter lead the votes, and it is strongly a night-time scent, which fits dates, dinners and evenings out in cooler weather.
