Ether, a 2023 release from Xerjoff, is a citrus fragrance with a woody side noticed by most people, and smaller groups finding sweetness, flowers, amber and resin.
The opening is a burst of citrus: Amalfi lemon, Calabrian bergamot, mandarin orange and Brazilian orange give a bright, juicy, sparkling start. Lavender and clary sage add a clean, herbal freshness, and Siberian pine a cool, resinous greenery. In the heart, Bulgarian rose brings a soft floral note, and cumin a warm, slightly skin-like spice. The base is smooth and sweet, with agarwood for a dry oud, gurjun balsam and benzoin for a balmy resin, sandalwood for creaminess, and caramel and Madagascar vanilla for a golden sweetness.
Ether is shared and can be worn by anyone. It moves from bright day wear to a warm evening trail, and should appeal to people who like citrus with real depth.
