Abraj, Arabic for towers, from The Spirit of Dubai (2015) is a woody fragrance with flowers noticed by most people, spice by about half, and smaller groups finding greenery, herbs and citrus.
The top is spiced and aromatic: Damask rose gives a velvety bloom, bergamot and petitgrain a bright citrus, black pepper, pink pepper, cardamom and saffron a warm, lively spice, and lavender and pine a clean, resinous freshness. The heart turns greener and leathery, with thyme and cypress for herbal notes, violet and jasmine for softness, and leather and cedar for a dry, smooth texture. The base is earthy and rich, with agarwood for smoky oud, oakmoss and moss for a damp green depth, and sandalwood, vanilla, benzoin and amber for warmth.
Abraj is shared and can be worn by anyone. It suits autumn and winter, evenings and formal occasions, for people who like spiced rose-oud with a mossy depth.
