The notes arrive as one list. Mandarin and plum open with a short, sweet-tart fruitiness, and black pepper brings a dry, sharp heat. Geranium adds a green, rosy tint in the middle. The base carries the composition: frankincense gives a smoky, slightly citrusy incense, myrrh a darker, bitter, balsamic resin, labdanum a warm ambery stickiness, and cedar with bourbon vetiver a dry, smoky, earthy wood.
