Kham-Sin from the Dutch house Salle Privée is a sweet, chocolate-led scent worn by anyone, composed by Tanja Deurloo and released in 2017. Everyone who has described it calls it gourmand, while a minority also find it woody, resinous, aromatic, ambery and citrusy.
The notes are listed as one group. Mandarin orange, petitgrain and mint give a surprisingly fresh, slightly bitter start; thyme adds a dry herbal note; then dark chocolate takes over, supported by tonka bean, labdanum, amber and patchouli, which together give a dense, resinous, cocoa-rich warmth. Violet brings a faint powdery sweetness that keeps the chocolate from being too bitter.
Longevity and sillage have not yet been reported. A dark chocolate and resin composition of this kind sits naturally in cold weather and in the evening, and would appeal to someone who likes gourmands with a bitter, grown-up edge rather than a sugary one. It is sold in a 100 ml bottle.
