Florence by Roberto Cavalli, released in 2017 and composed by Marie Salamagne, is a warm, sweet floral with serious staying power. Everyone describes it as floral, and about half also find it sweet, woody, musky, ambery and citrusy.
Blackcurrant and mandarin orange open it, tart and juicy, giving a brief fruity brightness. The heart is a trio of blossoms: orange blossom for a honeyed white-floral warmth, grapefruit blossom for a fresher, slightly bitter twist, and hibiscus seed for a soft, musky texture. The base is patchouli, amber and musk, earthy, warm and smooth, which is where the woody and ambery impressions come from and where the scent spends most of its time.
People consistently report it as long lasting, and a third say it never seems to fade. Projection is strong for most wearers and enormous for some, so apply sparingly. Autumn and winter share the seasonal votes evenly, and it is clearly a night scent. It suits evenings in cold weather and someone who wants a floral that behaves like something much heavier.
