Luna Rossa Carbon Eau de Toilette, Prada's 2017 masculine by Daniela Andrier, is a fresh scent with a mineral, slightly industrial twist. Fresh is the first word wearers use, and about half also describe it as spicy, woody, aromatic, amber and citrusy.

Bergamot and pepper open it, bright and peppery. The heart is where the character lies: lavender gives a clean, barbershop freshness, while metallic notes, watery notes, coal and a soil tincture add a cool, stony, faintly smoky quality, like wet slate or a stone floor. It is this mineral edge rather than any sweetness that people remember. The base of ambroxan and patchouli is dry and warm, with ambroxan lending a clean, salty glow and patchouli a touch of earth.

About half of wearers report moderate longevity and a third find it long lasting, while sillage is moderate for most. Spring and summer lead the votes, with day slightly ahead of night, so it works as an everyday, office-friendly fresh scent for men who prefer something cooler and less sweet than the usual.

Luna Rossa Carbon Eau de Toilette — for men fragrance by Prada (released 2017). Top notes: Bergamot, Pepper. Heart notes: Lavender, Metallic notes, Watery Notes, Coal, Soil Tincture. Base notes: Ambroxan, Patchouli. — Parfica open fragrance database
