It opens with raspberry alone, a tart, jammy fruit that sets up the sweetness. The heart is where the smoke arrives: birch brings a tarry, campfire quality, benzoin a resinous vanilla warmth, and amber a glow underneath. The base is broad and earthy, with vetiver, moss and patchouli giving a damp, forest-floor darkness, guaiac wood and cedar the smoked timber, and vanilla with tonka bean a sweetness that lingers for hours.
It is worn by anyone. Most wearers call the longevity eternal and a third long lasting, and sillage is strong or enormous for the large majority, so a single spray is the sensible dose.
