Oud Aquilaria from Omanluxury is a rose and oud composition by Dominique Ropion, released in 2020. Floral is the first word people use for it; most also call it spicy, woody and aromatic, with a smaller group noting sweetness and amber.
The notes are given as a single list. Bulgarian and Damask rose form the centre, a deep, jammy rose rather than a fresh one. Cloves and pink pepper add warm, sharp spice, while rosemary and sage give an unusual herbal, almost medicinal lift that keeps the rose from becoming heavy. A touch of apple adds brightness. Agarwood and patchouli bring dark, earthy depth, and labdanum with amber leaves a resinous, slightly leathery warmth at the end.
It is worn by anyone. This is a rich, Middle Eastern style rose and oud with a herbal twist, better suited to cool weather and evenings than to a warm office. Those who like their rose dark and spiced rather than soft and powdery will find the most to enjoy here.
