Radikal Lotus

Radikal Lotus from Laurent Mazzone Parfums, released in 2018, is a floral with a warm, sweet underside. Everyone who has described it says floral first; fewer than half add sweet and ambery, and a minority find it spicy or woody. It is made for anyone to wear.

The notes are given as one group, but they fall into a clear pattern. Guava and freesia give a juicy, slightly tropical brightness at the start, with a thread of saffron adding a dry, leathery spice. Lotus, jasmine, Indian jasmine and rose form the floral core, lush and heady rather than dainty. Underneath, vanilla and black amber bring sweetness and warmth, patchouli adds earth and ambergris a salty, skin-like depth that stretches the drydown.

Wear reports have not yet been collected. A composition this rich in jasmine and amber generally suits evenings and cooler weather, and will appeal to someone who likes flowers with presence rather than freshness.
