Modern Princess, Lanvin's 2016 feminine by Christophe Raynaud, is a light, sweet fruity floral. Sweet is the first description, most wearers also call it floral, and a third notice woods and musk.
Red apple and red currant open it, a crisp, juicy fruitiness with a tart edge from the currant. The heart is jasmine and freesia, two fresh, clean flowers that keep the apple from becoming too sugary. The base of white woods, vanilla orchid and white musk is soft and gentle, giving a faint creamy sweetness and a clean, skin-like finish rather than any real depth.
Performance is the weak point: wearers are split between calling it moderate and very weak, and most describe the sillage as intimate, so it stays very close and fades within a few hours for many. Spring and summer take most of the votes and it is almost exclusively worn by day, which makes it a soft, inoffensive daytime scent for anyone who wants a fresh apple-floral they can wear close.
