Killer Queen, released by Katy Perry in 2013 and composed by Laurent Le Guernec, is a sweet, dark fruity-floral for women. Everyone who describes it calls it gourmand, about two thirds add woody and floral, and a third note a citrus edge.

It opens with plum and forest fruits, ripe, jammy and a little boozy, with bergamot adding a brief brightness. The heart is tropical and creamy: frangipani gives a lush, slightly almond-like floral sweetness, jasmine sambac a warm, heady richness, and celosia a softer, less familiar floral touch. The base is praline, cashmeran and patchouli, so the finish is caramel-sweet, musky-woody and faintly earthy, which gives the fruit a darker setting than a simple berry scent.

Most people find the longevity moderate, with a quarter calling it weak, and sillage is moderate for the majority. It is voted for autumn and winter and slightly more for night, which suits a sweet, plummy scent for cooler evenings rather than daytime summer wear.
