It opens with bergamot and floral notes, a brief brightness before the heart turns earthy. Cypriol brings a smoky, slightly leathery, earthy woodiness, patchouli adds depth and darkness, and hyrax, an animalic material, gives a warm, musky, faintly urinous edge that is the forbidden element the name hints at. The base is broad: Atlas and Virginia cedar add dry, pencil-like woods, agarwood a resinous depth, benzoin a soft vanilla-like sweetness, iris a cool, powdery polish and ambergris a salty, skin-like glow.
Jus Interdit is a shared fragrance, worn by anyone. Oud, hyrax and cedar belong to cold weather and evenings, and it should appeal to people who like animalic, challenging woody scents rather than clean or sweet ones.
