Voyageur from the French house Jean Patou, composed by Jean Kerleo in 1995, is a classic aromatic woody citrus for men. People describe it as woody, aromatic and citrusy in equal measure, with about half also finding it green.

Orange and grapefruit open it bright, juicy and slightly bitter. The heart is lavender and sage, clean, herbal and a little camphorous, in the tradition of well-made men's colognes. The base is sandalwood, cedar and oakmoss: the sandalwood creamy, the cedar dry and clean, the oakmoss cool, damp and earthy, so the drydown is dry and green rather than sweet.

It is marketed as masculine and has the character of a polished daytime scent for the office and smart occasions, across most of the year, for someone who likes a traditional citrus-and-lavender structure done with care.
